Lavender
● AvailableLavender (100x120x4 cm, 2023) is a mixed-media artwork that explores the interplay of color, geography, and material presence. Building on the core motifs of my Sensitive Horizons series, the composition establishes a deliberate tension between two contrasting realms divided by a stark horizon line.
The upper expanse features a vast, meditative field of soft lavender, offering a sense of quietude and emotional space. Beneath it lies a heavily textured terrain built from raw materials such as bitumen, earth powders, and layered paint, evoking industrial history, ancient land, and physical weight.
Rising dramatically across this threshold are bold, vivid ultramarine blue form fragments. These geometric, stone-like structures rupture the canvas, bridging the dense lower earth with the tranquil atmosphere above. Their crinkled, highly tactile surfaces capture light from every angle, acting as energetic anchors within the landscape. Small vibrant blue fragments echo across the lower plane, suggesting a shared origin or a gradual dispersion of matter.
Through this alchemical blend of raw textures and luminous color blocking, Lavender transforms a static landscape into a dynamic conversation about frontiers, resilience, and transition. It offers fine art collectors a compelling focal point that balances serene minimalist elegance with raw, tactile depth.
