Morphosis. Antonella Quacchia

Category Exhibition

In April 2023 I had the privilege of presenting my solo exhibition Morphosis in the historic halls of the Palazzo della Cancelleria Apostolica Vaticana in Rome, curated by Giorgio Vulcano and Anna Isopo as part of the Contemporary Icons art review. From 15 to 22 April, visitors were invited to explore a body of work that reflects on the continuous evolution of human identity: how we are shaped by the environments we inhabit, the cultures we encounter, and the emotional landscapes we carry within us.

The exhibition brought together selected paintings from my series Our Planet and Floating Forms. Our Planet is rooted in my fascination for the beauty of the natural world, distilled into abstract horizons where matter, colour, and memory converge. Floating Forms, on the other hand, introduces subtle anthropomorphic presences, figures that emerge from layers of recollection, imagination, and lived experience. Together, these works trace a journey between the visible and the invisible, the real and the imagined, the intimate and the universal.

The event received generous attention in the Italian press, including a mention in Corriere della Sera – Roma and an interview with ART24, contributing to a gratifying and meaningful media resonance. Sharing this project in such an extraordinary setting, and engaging with the many visitors who connected with the works, remains one of the most significant moments in my artistic path.
