Serendipity
The Serendipity series is a celebration of the unexpected discoveries that propel a life forward, much like the innovation that birthed these works. This collection marked a significant turning point in my practice, as I began working with resin on panel for the first time. The element of chance inherent in this material, the way it moves, sets, and transforms, became the perfect metaphor for the fortunate, unplanned moments that shape our world.
In these large-scale abstract paintings, my focus returns powerfully to the natural world, specifically to the sublime and essential nature of water and the sea. The liquid dimensions I recreate explore not only my emotional affinity for this element but deepen the dialogue around critical global themes: ocean pollution, planetary fluidity, and the dynamics of climate change.
This innovative use of resin on panel is central to the series’ character. It allows me to develop unique artistic expressions, capturing a lustrous depth and a sense of movement that is both ethereal and materially permanent. This commitment to technical excellence and novel mediums is what distinguishes the work.

observation, which can lead to a chance experience, but one of great personal or community value.
It happens to scientists as well as artists to stumble upon something unplanned, but which fate has
decided to make available to us to come to our rescue.
A refrain that accompanies the artist’s life and concisely reflects the possibility that resin offers each
of its uses in artistic production. Its use has allowed Antonella Quacchia to come up with a wide
range of creative solutions and offered the opportunity to experiment with other materials to achieve
